Located at the start and finish of the Tour du Mont-Blanc (TMB) on the southern flank of the Chamonix Valley, the cottage Les Méandres (formerly Tupilak) offers you its sunny terraces with a breathtaking view of the Mont-Blanc mountain range. An authentic 18th century farmhouse completely renovated in 2009, its capacity is 24 people, divided into large rooms from 2 to 6 people. The cottage has 2 dining rooms and 4 comfortable shower rooms. The mode of operation is completely free. You can also use the kitchen at the cottage to eat on own or take meals offered by the cottage (dinner: 15 euros, breakfast: 8 euros). The owner, climbing instructor, canyoning guide and mountain, can inform you about the conditions of the mountains, all routes and the main sites of the valley of Chamonix and its surroundings (Aiguille du Midi, Mer de glace, Brevent, Aiguilles Rouges Nature Reserve).

The Contamines Chalet is a 5-minute walk from the village of Contamines, on the Mont Joly slope. It allows a stop “refueling” before attacking the climb of the Roman road and the big passes of the Mont Blanc tour before Courmayeur. Indeed Les Contamines is the last village before Courmayeur. The cottage is composed of 4 dormitories, showers and toilets are common. Dinner is served at 19:00.

The Giorgio Bertone refuge is located at an altitude of 2000 m in the Aosta Valley of the Pennine Alps, in the commune of Courmayeur. Located north-east of the inhabited zone and in front of the Mont Blanc Massif, it is located along Alta Via nº1 of Valle d’Aosta. The refuge was built in 1982, in memory of mountaineer Giorgio Bertone, who died in a plane crash at Mont Blanc du Tacul in 1977. It is possible to access the refuge by taking a panoramic starting from the locality of Plampincieux, at the beginning of Val Ferret. We recommend you stop at the orientation table, where the panorama is incomparable. Otherwise, you can leave directly from Courmayeur by traversing Val Sapin.
